We believe students deserve a broad, diverse and rigorous knowledge-rich History curriculum, which immerses students in a range of cultures and engenders an enquiring and critical outlook on the world.

We help students to develop a chronological understanding of Britain's past and its influence on the world, investing them with the cultural capital required to make sense of the country in which they live.

We want students to understand key concepts within History, such as significance and causation and consequence, to enable them to analyse information and convey their opinions in a methodical and structured way.

We ensure these disciplinary skills are honed and developed throughout the curriculum to create historians confident in communicating their views, both orally and in writing. We develop our students' confidence in debating historical issues, interrogating evidence and evaluating historical interpretations
